Connections to the Ambr

Module

The adapter connects to the Ambr

the standard filter, utilizing 3 ports for feed, permeate, and retentate. Tubing

included with the product connects these ports to their counterparts on the

tube interface block. The provided tube set facilitates the connection of the

filter's 3 ports to the corresponding ports on the tube interface block.

The filter holder securely attaches the filter to the adapter using the includ-

ed tube set. 1 of the 2 permeate ports on the filter remains unused and must

be sealed with a Luer cap. Most filters come with Luer caps on all ports, and

a spare Luer cap is included for those without one. It must be ensured that

the Luer cap is tight on the unused permeate port or the filter may fail its fil-

ter gas tightness test and the subsequent filtration process.

The Filtration Process

The filtration process is unchanged when using the product with the Ambr

Crossflow module, whether it is ultrafiltration or diafiltration. Instead of

going straight into the standard filter, the fluid flows from the adapter feed

port into the corresponding port on the tube interface block and then onto

the filter. Then, the fluid flows out from the filter via the retentate and | or

permeate ports, back into the tube interface block's corresponding ports

and eventually into the adapter and the Ambr
