- Page 3 S T E P 3 Unfold new replacement canopy and shake out. Slide canopy over top of umbrella and line up the grommet on the canopy with hole on top of the umbrella (Fig. 5). Place finial back onto umbrella by turning clockwise (Fig. 6). Do not tighten completely. Line canopy seams with ribs, then continue to tighten finial.
