AUTO TILT CORD REPLACEMENT MANUAL REQUIRED ITEMS: • Phillips head screwdriver • Pliers • Wrench • Needle & thread • Scissors NOTE: Read these instructions completely before attempting replacement. S T E P 1 Identify Break in Cord Remove umbrella canopy and bottom pole. Identify the break in the cord (Fig. 1). NOTE: If cord is not visible outside umbrella frame, cord replacement cannot be completed.

Using wrench, remove the nut (Fig. 5). Hold back placement clip to remove gear and washer (Fig. 6). (Fig. 5) Washer Gear (Fig. 6) S T E P 3 Remove Handle & Untie Cord Pull the handle from out of the frame (Fig. 7). Untie the knot at the end of the cord (Fig. 8). (Fig.

S T E P 5 Insert New Cord Through Pole Locate the broken cord and pull it out of the frame so the new cord is threaded through (Fig.11). Make certain some of the new cord protrudes through the crank handle hole. Once the connection is visible, cut the thread that connects the cords (Fig.

S T E P 7 Reassemble Crank Handle Push back the placement clip (Fig. 15) and reassemble crank mechanism in the following order: Washer, gear, nut, cotter pin Make certain gear is placed correctly with placement clip. Be sure to bend the edges of the cotter pin around the contours of the washer (Fig.

S T E P 9 Replacement Complete Replacement is now complete. Test to ensure proper function. NOTE: If there is too much slack in the cord, untie the knot beneath the hub (Fig. 19). Re-tie the knot higher up the cord. Cut away any excess cord beneath knot.
