TAPE FINDER function allows you to search for a programme you want to view or the point which you want
to start recording on tape, with the following three functions.
* INDEX SEARCH : To locate the beginning of a recorded programme.
* BLANK SEARCH: To locate the beginning of a blank (non-recorded) section on tape.
* EASY VIEW : This switches fast forward or rewind to visual search so that you can search for a
scene you want to view while scanning the pictures.

Jump to.an Index Mark with INDEX
A quick way to access specific programme segments is with the index search feature. This will let you to
search through a tape that as several recordings on it by using the INDEX "mark". This function works only
on the recording tape with indexing on it. While recording, you can create an INDEX mark every time you press
the REC or REC/IRT button. The index xalgtial is not recorded if the PAUSE button is pressed and released
during recording.
1) Press the button for fast
rewind or the @ button for fast
forward to begin the index
search.
* The tape rewinds or fast
forwards until an index mark is
detected. During this search,
the word INDEX is displayed at
the top of the screen.
When the VCR finds an index
mark, it plays 15 seconds of the
programme that begins at that
spot.

Note: If there are no index marks on the tape, the VCR will just rewind to the
beginning or fast forward to the end.
