2. Hardware Functionality

2.4 Power Supply

The power supply pins are physically connected to the 6-pin terminal block panel socket located on the
left panel. The connection of the power supply is illustrated in Figure

The required power supply voltage for the router ranges between +9 V and +48 V DC. Refer to the
connection scheme in Figure
reversed polarity, functioning without signaling. To guarantee correct operation, the power source must be
capable of providing a sufficient amount of energy, as detailed in the consumption section of Chapter 4.1.
Unit has to be supplied by a power supply specified as a Limited Power Source (LPS) or CEC/NEC
Class 2 source of supply.
The metal case of the router is not connected to the negative pole of the power supply (common pole).
If recommended for the installation environment, it is advised to protect the router by properly grounding it
using the grounding screw, as illustrated in Figure 16.
