How to set up without a sim card?

1 comments:

March 13, 2025

The Mercusys MB130-4G router is designed primarily for use with a nano SIM card for 4G LTE connectivity. However, if you want to set it up without a SIM card, you may be able to use it in Wireless Router Mode. To do this:

1. Position the Router – Place it in a suitable location for optimal Wi-Fi coverage.
2. Power On – Plug the router into a power source and turn it on.
3. Access the Web Interface – Connect a device to the router via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, then open a web browser and enter the router's management page.
4. Enable Wireless Router Mode – Navigate to the settings and configure the device to work as a regular Wi-Fi router instead of using a 4G connection.
5. Connect to an Existing Internet Source – If available, connect the router to an external modem via Ethernet.
6. Complete Setup – Follow the on-screen instructions to configure Wi-Fi settings and finalize the setup.

This allows the router to function as a standard Wi-Fi router without requiring a SIM card.
