property damage.
User must be a qualified
operator familiar with the
correct
maintenance, and use of the
device.
• Do NOT exceed rated capacity of the pump / cylinder or any
equipment in the system. The cylinder is designed for a max.
pressure of 10,000 PSI.
• Do NOT connect a cylinder to a pump with higher pressure rating.
Do not connect pump to hydraulic system powered by another
pump.
• Both couplers on the cylinder must be connected to the pump.
Double-acting cylinder must be used with a pump equipped with
4-way valve
• Do NOT subject device + its components to shock loads, a load
dropped suddenly, causing the system pressure to exceed rated
pressure.
Avoid damaging the hydraulic
Do NOT pull, position or move
hose. Do NOT allow hose to

hose is blocked or reduced.
Avoid pinch and/or crush
points that can be created by
the load, cylinder or any
equipment of the system.
Cylinder/pump must be on a stable base which supports the
load while pushing or lifting. Use shims, friction material or
bonds to prevent slippage of the base or load. Ensure
cylinder is fully engaged into/onto adapters, ex
accessories. NEVER
lift a load weighing more than the
capacity of the cylinder.
Inspect pump, cylinder, hoses and connections before each use to
prevent unsafe conditions from developing. Do NOT use if they are
damaged, altered or in poor condition. Do not operate the system
with bent or damaged coupler or damaged threads. It is
recommended that an annual inspection is done by qualified
personnel and that any missing or damaged parts, decals,
warning/safety labels or signs are replaced with BVA Hydraulics
authorized replacement parts only. Any cylinder/pump that appears
to be damaged in any way, is worn or operates abnormally shall be
removed from service immediately until such time as repairs can be
made.
Avoid short runs of straight line tubing. Straight line runs do not
provide for expansion and contraction due to pressure and/or
temperature changes. Reduce stress in tube lines. Long tubing
runs should be supported by brackets or clips. Before operating the
pump/cylinder tighten all hose connections with proper tools. Do
NOT over tighten. Connections should only be tightened securely.
Over tightening can cause premature thread failure or high
pressure fittings to burst. Do NOT adjust or remove the safety
relieve valve. Higher setting than rated pressure will result in
equipment damage and/or personal injury.
It is your responsibility to keep warning decal legible and intact. Replacement decals may be obtained from service centers.

equipment.
operation,
The system operating pressure must NOT exceed the pressure
rating of the lowest rated component the system.
Install a pressure gauge or a other load measuring instrument to
monitor operating pressure/verify load. Burst hazard exists if hose,
connection or any other component in the system exceeds its rated
pressure. Do NOT connect to application which can return more oil
to the reservoir than the pump reservoir can hold.
NEVER attempt to grasp a
leaking pressurized hose with
handle
or
other
your hands. The force of
escaping hydraulic fluid can
inflict injury. Always ensure to
shut off the pump. Release the

Center
load
Distribute load evenly across
the entire saddle surface. Do

NOT off-center loads on a
cylinder. The load can tip or
the cylinder can "kick out".
• Prior to applying the load, be sure that the hydraulic ram collar threads are fully engaged to
head assembly.
• Components of this press are specially designed to withstand the rated capacity. Do not
substitute bolts, pins, or any other components.
• Before applying the load, be sure that all press bed support pins are fully engaged, and the
hydraulic ram unit is fully threaded into the ram mount.
• Before operating, check for signs of cracked welds, bent bed pins, loose or missing bolts, or
any other structural damage.
• Remove all loads from the press bed before attempting to adjust bed height. Be aware of
possible falling bed.
• Press only on the work piece supported by the press bed.
• When using accessories, such as arbor plates, be sure that they are centered on the press
bed, and are in full contact with the bed.
• Both arbor plates should be used to ensure load capacity.
• Parts being pressed may splinter, shatter or eject from the press. Due to various
applications, it is your responsibility to always use adequate guards, such as eye
protection and heavy protective clothing, when operating this press.
• Keep hands and fingers out of the press and away from parts that may shift and pinch.
• Do not stand in front of the work area where the load is applied.
4
CRUSH HAZARD. Keep hands and feet away from the cylinder,
hydraulic
loading area and work piece during operation. NEVER work on,
under or around a lifted load before it is properly supported by
appropriate mechanical means. NEVER rely on hydraulic pressure
alone to support a load. NEVER hold or stand directly in line with
any hydraulic connections while pressurizing. All personnel must
be clear before lowering load or depressurizing the system.
Do NOT subject the hose to potential hazards such as fire, sharp
objects, extreme heat or cold or heavy impact. Hydraulic fluid can
ignite and burn. Excessive heat will soften seals, resulting in fluid
leaks. Heat also weakens hose materials. Hoses also must not
come in contact with corrosive materials such as battery acid,
creosote impregnated objects and wet paint. NEVER paint a
before
coupler or hose.

cylinder.
No alteration shall be made to this device. NEVER attach
components not authorized by manufacturer. Use only factory
authorized accessories and approved hydraulic fluid. Hose
material and coupler seals must be compatible with hydraulic fluid
uses. NEVER try to disassemble a hydraulic cylinder, refer repairs
to qualified, authorized personnel. Contact BVA Hydraulics
Technical Service Center.
This device is NOT suitable for
use as a support device! When
the load is lifting, use blocking
and cribbing to guard against a
falling load. Stay clear of a
lifted load before it is properly
supported.
