5 Preparing the Lawn Mower for Operation

Preparing the Lawn Mower for
Operation
The following steps must be performed before
commencing work:
► Remove packaging material and transport
locks.
► Make sure that the following components are
in safe condition:
– Lawn mower,
– Blade,

► Fully charge the battery,
► Clean the lawn mower,
► Check the blade,
► Fold up the handlebar,
► Adjust the handlebar,
► If mowing and the grass is to be collected in
the grass catcher box:
► Detach the extension,
► Open the mulch flap,
► Attach the grass catcher box,
► If mowing and the grass is to be directed to
the ground from the side:
► Close the mulch flap,
► Attach the extension,
► If mulching:
► Close the mulch flap,
► Detach the extension,
► Set the cutting height,
► Check the controls,
► If the steps cannot be performed: do not use
the lawn mower and consult a STIHL special‐
ist dealer.
