Recording on tape
e This deck is equipped with an auto-reverse function, sof
you record in the ® direction, when recording finishes in
that direction it will automatically start recording in the <4
direction. if you only want to record on one side of the tape,
record in the <4 direction, or break off the accidental
erasure prevention tab on the side you don't want to record
on.
e Use a TYPE | (Normal) or TYPE Hl (HIGH/CrO2) tape.
1 Load the tape for recording into TAPE Il.
@ Wind the tape forward past the leader to the start of the
magnetic coated portion.
2 Set DOLBY NR to ON or OFF.
e A tape recorded using the DOLBY NR system must be
played back using the same system.
3 Select the program source to be recorded
using the FUNCTION (DEMO) button on
the receiver.
4 Press @.
The deck enters record-standby mode.
Press > or < to start recording.
Play the program source to be recorded.
@ The recording level is automatically adjusted.

To stop recording:
Press STOP tf.
To stop recording temporarily:
Press @. To resume recording, press ® or <4.
e Inthe rec pause mode or recording mode, the input source
cannot be changed
@ Inthe rec pause mode or recording mode, the sound field
control and stereo wide mode do not function.
@ During recording with P.BASS, the playback soundis heard
with P.BASS, but not recorded.
@ In Rec Pause or Recording mode, KARAOKE function
cannot be used
e@ This unit automatically sets the recording fevel by ALC
(Auto Level Control) function.
Copying a tape
The contents of the tape in TAPE | can be copied onto the tape
in TAPE It
@ The tape is copied with the same setting as the one being
played regardless of the setting of the DOLBY NR button.
1 Load the recorded tape into TAPE | and
the tape for recording into TAPE Il.
@ Wind the tape forward past the leader to the start of the
magnetic coated portion.
@ Tape copying should begin in the forward direction { » ).
@ The tape copy mode is canceled when the end of either
of the tapes !s reached, so it is advisable to use tapes of
the same jength
2 Set the FUNCTION (DEMO) button on the
receiver to TAPE.
3 Press ASES/COPY to start copying.
To stop copying:
Press M. Both decks will stop simultaneously.
