NOTE: Some jumper cables may be
the same color but the clamps or
ends will be color-coded red and
black.
6. Attach one clamp of the negative
jumper cable (black) to the negative (-)
terminal (3) of good battery (B); then
attach the other clamp of the negative
(black) jumper cable (4) to an unpainted
metal surface (A) on the engine well
away from the dead battery and fuel
system components.
! WARNING
Never make the final connection to a
battery as a spark could ignite hydro-
gen gases causing an explosion of
the battery resulting in acid burns or
blindness.

7. Stand well away from the dead bat-
tery and start the vehicle with the
good battery. Allow the vehicle to
run for several minutes applying
some charge to the dead battery.
8. Start the snowmobile with the dead
battery and allow it to run for several
minutes before disconnecting the
jumper cables.
9. Remove the jumper cables in oppo-

site order of hook-up (4, 3, 2, 1). Be
careful not to short cables against
bare metal.
NOTE: Have the battery and elec-
trical system checked prior to oper-
ating the snowmobile again.
