The following IBM 5250 emulation programs are available for
Windows 95 when running under a DOS window:
Enhanced 5250 Emulation Program Version 3.0 and later
5250 Express Program Version 4.0 and later
Microsoft Windows NT
The following IBM 5250 emulation programs are available for
Windows NT:
IBM AS/400 Client Access, Version 3, Release
1,
Modification 1
and later
IBM Personal Communications AS/400 Windows NT Version 4.1
and later
Installing an IBM 5250 Express
Adapter
To install an IBM 5250 Express adapter, you must install the adapter
hardware into your PC and install any support files that are required
for your adapter.
You might also need to update your CONFIG.SYS file so that
adequate memory is reserved for the adapter. For more information,
see "Memory Managers" on page 37.
Hardware Requirements
To install the adapter, you must have the following hardware:
One of the following:
For an IBM 5250 Express ISA Adapter, a PC that is
designed to the IBM PC AT, ISA, or EISA standard
For an IBM 5250 Express PCI Adapter, a PC that is
designed to the PCI standard
For an IBM 5250 Express PC Card, a PC that supports a
PCM CIA Release 2.0 or later Type II
or
Type III card
Note: For information about IBM 5250 Express adapter
compatibility with specific PCs, contact your IBM Marketing
Representative or Authorized IBM Dealer or go to the technical
support web page. For information about the web page, see page
47.
A 3.5-inch diskette drive
An approved cable that has a standard DB 15 socket D-shell
connector for attachment to the adapter on one end and an
appropriate connection to the host cabling system on the other
end
