Technical information

This appendix contains information that might be useful when installing your
Matrox Morphis QxT.

Global information

• Operating system: See your software manual for supported versions.
• System requirements: A computer with a x4 or x8 PCIe bus and an Intel Pentium
processor (or equivalent) or better.
• We recommend a relatively up-to-date PCIe chipset. The list of platforms that are
known to be compatible with Matrox Morphis QxT are available on the Matrox
website, under the board's PC compatibility list.

Acquisition features

• Can simultaneously capture from up to 16 independent video sources.
• Accepts composite (CVBS) video in NTSC/PAL format, or monochrome video
in RS-170/CCIR format.
• Captured data can be converted into the following formats with square pixels:
RGB planar, BGR32 packed, YCrCb, YUV16 packed (stored in YUYV format),
and 8-bit monochrome.
• Has 128 Mbytes of 166 MHz DDR SDRAM used as acquisition memory.
• Supports cropping (ROI capture), arbitrary downscaling to 1/16th of a field or
frame, and vertical/horizontal flipping.

Additional features

• Has hardware facilities for implementing custom software-based motion
detection.
• Has integrated Watchdog capabilities for automatically recovering from
application or system failure.
