Note:
Determine the left and right sides of the machine from the normal operating position.

Recommended Maintenance Schedule(s)

CAUTION
If you leave the key in the ignition switch, someone could accidently start the engine and
seriously injure you or other bystanders.
Remove the key from the ignition and disconnect the wire from the spark plug before you do
any maintenance. Set the wire aside so that it does not accidentally contact the spark plug.
Maintenance Procedure
• Change the engine oil and filter.
• Check the safety-interlock system.
• Check the engine-oil level.
• Clean the air intake screen.
• Check the cutting blades.
• Inspect the grass deflector for damage
• Clean the mower deck housing.
• Grease all lubrication points.
• Clean the foam element (more often in dusty, dirty conditions).
• Check tire pressure.
• Check the belts for wear/cracks.
• Replace the foam element (more often in dusty, dirty conditions).
• Service the paper element (more often in dusty, dirty conditions).
• Change the engine oil (more often in dusty, dirty conditions).
• Change the oil filter (more often in dusty, dirty conditions).
• Check the spark plug(s).
• Replace the paper element (more often in dusty, dirty conditions).
• Replace the spark plug(s).
• Replace the in-line fuel filter
• Charge the battery and disconnect battery cables.
• Perform all maintenance procedures listed above before storage.
• Paint any chipped surfaces.
