Lines From Drive To Controller

pulse indicating the drive ha~ sensed the begin-
ning of a logical track and occurs once each revolution
of the disk pack. The leading edge defines the begin-
ning of the track.
When
true it indicates the drive is powered up, on line
and capable of cammunicatinq with the controller.
Bidirectional Data Lines
Nine lines carryinq data, address, control and status
information between the controller and drive. The
specific information transferred deoends on the command
being executed.
Power Sequence Lines (used only on units with Power
sequence feature)

Used for power sequencinq. A low on this line powers up
drive i~ LOCAL/REMO'l'E switch is
in
REMOTE and STAR"!' in-
dicator if liqhted. The drive receives the siqnal either
from the controller or the previous drive in the strinq.
Dependinq on the system, this siqnal may oriqinate either
at the controller or a jumper plug attached to the
1/0
panel
of the first drive in the strinq. With the jumper pluq, the
signal is held low at the input to the first drive. See
Local/Remote Control discussion for more information.
Used for power sequencing. This line must be low for drive to
remain in a power up condition after completinq a remote power
up. Like Pick In, this siqnal may oriqinate either at the
controller or the first drive in the strinq.
Goes to next drive
in
strinq as pick In. If this drive is in
local, the siqnal is low thereby allowinq the next drive to
power up. If
LOCAL/BEMOTE
switch is in REMOTE, the siqnal

low when the drive completes its power on sequence.
