4.9 Replacing the X-Carriage drive belt(s).

Inspection_the_X-Carriage_drive_belt
Remove the upper X-Carriage cover
Remove the entire carriage out of the lower X-Carriage cover
Remove the tension adjustment *screw a (M4x10 hexagon head 7mm).
* The screw is a special "Tuflok" screw which is coated to counteract it becoming loose. Such a
screw can be adjusted a few times without anything happening to the coating; however the screw
should be checked periodically whether it still has enough coating on it. If not, or uncertainty is at
hand it should be exchanged (032764.50.40).
Remove the belt security screw and washer b (T10 3x4).
Slide the belt out of both toothed racks of the X-Y-Connection unit c.
Removing the belt out of the tension bracket:
1) (Picture 1) Push the pin in the direction of the arrow.
2) (Picture 2) The grooves in the pin are no longer situated in the bracket.
3) (Picture 3) Remove the pin and the belt drive pinion.
4) (Pictures 4 + 5) Remove the washer, being careful to note the positioning!
