9 Special safety instructions for medium-pressure

• Before introducing or removing the t-mass T 150: make sure that the process pressure is
less than or equal to 16 barg (232 psi).
• Secure the screws on the retractable assembly with an adhesive if the retractable assembly
is a fixed installation assembly and exposed to strong vibrations.
• If ambient temperatures exceed 50 °C (122°F), it is advisable to use the retractable assembly
as a mobile tool.
• Due to the weight of the hot tap retractable assembly, a support is needed to protect the
pipe when installing horizontally, for example.
• When installing the mounting boss, always comply with the safety and mounting
instructions in the Operating Instructions.
• Check the weld seams and threaded joints for leaks.
• NPT/BSP pipe thread: use suitable sealing material.
• The hot tap (retractable assembly) may only be used with safe substances in accordance
with European Directive 67/548/EEC Art. 2.
