to 20° F below zero. In 6-12 tires, 42 pounds

21. WHEEL SETTINGS. Tread settings are changed
by changing the position of the hub spacer rings on
the hub and by dishing the wheels in or out. The
chart on page 7 shows various tread settings for
Gardener models.
22. TRACTOR OPERATION.
STARTING, STOPPING - Before starting engine, be
sure clutch levers are disengaged. After the engine
is running, to start tractor, move both clutch release
levers to the vertical or forward position. To stop
tractor, pull both clutch release levers back.
23. TURNING.
To turn right, engage left clutch.
To turn left, engage right clutch.
When turning, raise the tractor handles so the tools
are clear of the ground and the weight of the unit is
balanced on the tractor wheels. After a little practice,
turning can be accomplished with very little effort.
GUIDE the tractor with your left hand using your
thumb to regulate the throttle control lever. This
leaves your right hand free for implement control,
etc.
Following these instructions will assure you of long
trouble-free operation of your Huski Gardener Trac-
tor. Keep the tractor sheltered from the weather
when not in use.
24. CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT. No adjustment should be
necessary for the original operation of the tractor,
since the clutches are set and tested at the factory.
When installing clutch rods remember that only
1/8 inch travel of the internal clutch member is
required to fully disengage the clutch. Clutch travel
is adjusted by turning the clevis on the threaded end
of clutch rods. With the clutches engaged, the high
cam surface of the clutch throwout lever should
have a clearance of approximately 1/16 inch from
the low cam surface of the clutch throwout fork.
If clutch slippage occurs:
(a) Inject penetrating oil between clutch spring
and hub of internal clutch. Actuate clutch to insure
penetration of oil.
(b) Remove internal clutch, check for burrs on
clutch key, keyways of internal clutch and trans-
mission shaft.
(c) Check for oil or grease on linings. Wash with
oil free solvent.
