Selection Guide for Choosing Appropriate Inserts

See the following table to select proper inserts.
The numbers in the table refer to applicable fiber diameters in microns (μm) for each
-
combination of upper and lower inserts.
The inserts above 500μm diameter fibers have grooves on both sides. There are
-
markings on either side that shows the fiber diameter of each.
In some cases, depending on the coating material, the insert one size smaller than the
coating diameter may yield the best performance.

Select the inserts according to the cladding diameter and the jacket diameter of the optical
fiber to cleave. basically, the jacket side of the optical fiber comes to the left clamp unit, the
cladding side of the optical fiber comes to the right clamp unit.
