Troubleshooting Tips ... Before you call for service
Problem
Possible Cause
Burners do not light
Plug on range is not completely inserted in the
electrical outlet.
Gas supply not connected or turned on.
A fuse in your home may be blown or the circuit
breaker tripped.
Burner parts not replaced correctly.
Burner slots near the electrode, or the round lighter
port on the oval burner, may be clogged.
Food residue on electrode or in the orifice.
Top burners do not burn

What To Do
Make sure electrical plug is plugged into a live, properly
grounded outlet.
See the Installation Instructions that came with your
range.
Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker.
See the Care and Cleaning – Exterior Surfaces section.
Remove the burners and clean them. Check the electrode
area for burned-on food or grease. See the Care and
Cleaning - Exterior Surfaces section.
Lightly polish flat tip of electrode with nail file or
sandpaper until shiny or clean the area around the
electrode.

Make sure the burner caps are seated correctly. See the

Surface Burners section.
Remove the burners for cleaning. See the Care and
Cleaning – Cooktop Surfaces - Cleaning the Burner

If range is connected to propane or butane gas, contact
the technician who installed your range or made the
conversion.
