Control unit
CuroCell® iA Automatic is an automatic air mattress system used as an aid to prevent and treat
pressure ulcers/pressure injuries. The automation means that the control unit's built-in sensors
use software to adjust the inner pressure of the mattress according to the patient's weight, height,
position, and change in position. This means that no manual action needs to be performed to
adjust the inner pressure of the mattress to conform to the patient.
CuroCell® iA Manual is a manual air mattress system used as an aid to prevent and treat pressure
ulcers/pressure injuries. The inner pressure of the mattress must be set manually based on the
weight of the patient. Perform a hand check to make sure the pressure is correct, see section 5.7.
The mattress system maintains the pre-set inner pressure regardless of movement and position
changes. This means that when the patient changes position, for example, the mattress's inner
pressure must be adjusted manually.
Any of these two control units are compatible with any of the mattresses in 6.3.
