Connecting the Modem
When choosing a location for your SX212 Modem, avoid places
that expose it to dust, grease, extreme temperatures, or high
humidity. You should place your SX212 Modem near the com¬
puter and a readily accessible phone jack.
Note:
If you have an ATARI Disk Drive, you can place the
modem on top of the drive and the phone on top of the modem
if you wish.
Arrange the components securely on a firm, level surface and
follow the instructions below:
1. Make sure all the components of your computer system
are off and that the ON/OFF switch on the back of the
modem is in the OFF (or 0) position.

computers, plug the pronged end of the RS232 cable into
the port marked RS232 on the back of the modem. Plug
the other end into a 25-pin serial port (or a 9-pin port on
an IBM PC AT) on the back of your computer or terminal.
This port may be labeled RS232 or MODEM, depending on
the type of computer or terminal you own.
