Overload protection (see fig. 4.1)
Overload protection system of the engine automati-
cally switches off the power tool when it is operated
in a manner that causes it to draw an abnormally high
current
When this protection system is activated indicators 16
will blink as shown onto fig. 4.1 during 3 seconds.
Overdischarge protection
The battery 12 is protected by the safety system against
deep discharge. In case of complete discharge, the
power tool is automatically switched off Attention: do
not try to switch on the power tool when the protec-
tion system is activated the battery 12 can be dam-
aged.
Indicators of the state of battery charge (see
fig. 4.2)
With the push of the button 17 the indicators 16 show
the state of charge of the battery 12 (see fig. 4.2).
Safety start system
Safety start system - allows to switch on the power tool
using only both hands at the same time
Break rundown
Break rundown stops the blades 4 of the power tool
during 1 sec after the power tool is turned off
Recommendations on the power tool op-
eration
General recommendation (see fig. 6-7)
• Prior to the beginning of the work make sure that
no obstacles are there on the plot, ie stones, roots
that stick out of the ground, water hoses, abandoned
garden sundry This may cause you to fall, so be
careful
• Always hold the power tool firmly by both handles 2
and 5 (see fig. 6.1).
• Switch on the power tool as described above
• The power tool shall be held at some distance from
body
• Wait a while before starting to work to let the
blades 4 accelerate to the required speed and only
then start trimming branches Warning: do not trim
the branches the diameter of which is larger than
specified in the technical data table.
• The green hedges are to be formed as shown in
fig. 6.2.
• Move forward slowly and trim the branches following
the cut plane (see fig. 7.1).
• Cut the sides of green hedge first, and then cut top
edge
• To obtain straight lines, it is recommended (see
fig. 7.2) to cut from down to top. If top-down cutting
is used, thin branches move outside and thinned-out
spots will result
• In order to cut top edge of green hedge straight,
strain a cord along the full length of the hedge at nec-
essary height. You should work extremely carefully in
this case not to let the blades 4 touch the stretched
cord
• If in the process of the work you intend to perform
some actions (for example, collect cut branches, etc),
be sure to switch off the power tool, wait until the
blades 4 completely stops
• Switch off the power tool after finishing work.
Optimal time for cutting
• It is better to cut deciduous bushes in June and Oc-
tober
• Coniferous bushes are to be cut in April and Au-
gust
• Fast growing bushes should be cut every 6 weeks,
beginning in May
Power tool maintenance / preventive
measures
Before carrying out any works on the power tool
remove the battery 12.
Battery maintenance instruction
• Charge timely before the battery 12 is completely
exhausted Stop operation in low power and charge it
immediately
• Do not overcharge when the battery 12 is full, other-
wise it will shorten the life time
• Charge battery 12 in the room temperature of 10°C
to 40°C (50°F to 104°F)
• Charge battery 12 every 6 months without operation
for a long time
• Replace worn out batteries in time Decline of pro-
duction or a significantly shorter runtime of the power
tool after charging indicates aging of the battery 12
and the need for replacement. It should be taken into
account that the battery 12 may discharge faster if
the works take place in the temperature below 0°С.
• In case of long time storage without use, it is recom-
mended to store the battery 12 at room temperature, it
should be charged to 50%
Cleaning and lubricating of the power tools (see
fig. 8-9)
When used for a longer time the power
tool blades 4 can become very hot - wear
protective gloves when performing any
operation with the blades 4. It will also
reduce the risk of injuries caused by the cutting
edges.
• The power tool exterior surfaces should be cleaned
after operation with a soft brush and cloth Do not use
caustic substances or solvents for the cleaning of the
power tool Avoid any oiling-up of the handles
• Use a brush to remove leaves and small branches
from the blades 4 (see fig. 8.1).
• Clean sap or pitch from the blades 4. It is recom-
mended to use a special cleaning spray for blades 4
(see fig. 8.2).
• Lubricate the blades 4 from the oiler as shown in fig-
ure 9 Turn the power tool over and apply a few drops
of oil to the 6 fasteners 18
• If you notice that the blades 4 are blunt, or the qual-
ity of cutting branches has deteriorated, it may be nec-
