Image Enhancer Adjustments
You can use this unit to control the image enhancer
built into an HD Digital VTR HDW-500, HD-NTSC
Down-Converter Board HKPF-525 or 525-HD Up-
Converter Board HKPF-1125, and adjust the edge
enhancement of the output signal.

Press the IMAGE ENHANCER button.

Select the conversion mode.
Press one of the CROP, LETTER BOX, and
SQUEEZE buttons.
Down-converter (HD-NTSC down-convertion)
• Edge crop mode (CROP button)

The sides of the HDTV image are cropped, reducing its
width by 1/4.
To adjust the horizontal position of the
cropping
Turn the H CROP adjustment knob. For fine
adjustment, hold down the CROP button and turn the
H CROP adjustment knob.

image

The NTSC image (aspect ratio 4:3) is expanded horizontally
to fit the HDTV image (aspect ratio 16:9).

Make the image enhancer adjustments.
H CROP•V LETTER adjustment knob
Adjust the horizontal position for cropping in edge
crop mode with down-converter, and the horizontal
position of HDTV image in edge crop mode and
the vertical position for cropping in letter box
mode with up-converter.
DETAIL GAIN adjustment knob
Adjust the sharpness of edge enhancement within
the ranges of the various knobs.
