POWER switch
Press this switch to supply power. Press the switch again
to turn the power off.
Preset function switch (A/B)
Use this switch to switch preset stations between the A
side and B side. The corresponding indicator lights.
PROGRAM
switch
Pressing this switch turns the PROGRAM
function ON,
and pressing it again turns it OFF.
With this function, the preset channels can be alternately
switched between groups A and B every time the power
is turned ON.
Refer to ''Program reception"'.
MEMORY switch
When
this switch
is pressed,
the MEMORY
indicator
lights and the unit stands by for preset station memory.
ACTIVE RECEPTION switch
When this switch is pressed, the indicator to the left of it
lights.
When ACTIVE RECEPTION is ON, the RF SELECTOR and
FM
IF BANDs
are
automatically
switched
during
FM
broadcast reception to provide the most optimum recep-
tion condition.
The RF selector indicators and the FM IF BAND indicators
light automatically according
to the current
reception
condition.
RF SELECTOR switch
Along with the increase of stations, the RF intermodula-
tion or intermodulation noise becomes serious. To pre-
vent
this, the RF SELECTOR
switch
is provided.
It is
recommended to use this switch together with the FM IF
BAND
switch for the best reception according to the
receiving condition.
DIRECT: When
this switch
is pressed,
the RF _ inter-
modulation or intermodulation noise will be reduced
and the best quality sound is obtained. In a strong-
Signal area set to this position for greater sound
Quality.
DISTANCE: When a distant station is required, set to
this position. The receiving ability is improved so
that the weak-signal station can be received with
lower noise.

FMF BAND switch
This switch operates only during FM reception, and swit-
ches the intermediate frequency passing band between
"WIDE''
and ''NARROW"'.
When
listening in an area
where there is no radio interference, press the switch so
that the ''FM IF BAND"
indicator lights to indicate the
WIDE
mode:
High-quality sound without distortion can
be recording.
When interference is noticed, set the switch off for the
NARROW
mode: The radio wave selectivity is inproved,
thereby resulting interference free reception.
Preset station switches (CH-1 to CH-0O)
One FM or AM station can be stored in each of the A side
and B side of each CH switch. When the switch is press-
ed, the preset station indicator lights and the frequency
counter displays the frequency that has been preset in
the switch. A total of 20 stations, 10 in the A side and
10 in the B side, can be preset.
Recording calibration switch (REC CAL)
Use this switch to adjust the recording level of the tape
deck for FM broadcast recording. Be sure to set the
switch to OFF after setting the level or when not recor-
ding broadcast. When the switch is set to ON, the FEC
CAL indicator lights.
Sensitivity level switch & indicator (SENS. LEVEL)
The auto-stop level for the AUTO TUNING mode canbe
switched to ''HIGH""' or ''LOW"'. Use the ''LOW" setting
when the tuning is stopped too often due to too good
reception condition of night, etc. When the switch isset
to HIGH, the SENS. LEVEL indicator on the left light.
Auto stereo/mono switch (AUTO ST./MONO)
AUTO
ST.:
The tuner switches automatically between
stereo
and
monaural
operation
according
to he
mode in which the selected station is opening.
MONO:
Provides monaural operation regardless of tne
transmitting mode.
FM/AM selector switch
FM: Press this switch for FM reception.
AM: Press this switch for AM reception.
