TIMER
Naming a preset station
If you have tuned to a transmitter with RDS signal, the name
given by the station will appear automatically. When you try
to enter a name for an RDS transmitter, the display shows
' RDS DATA. For the other preferred transmitters you can
program a name yourself using the figure/alphabet but-
tons G6).
. The name can be a combination of figures, letters, symbols
and spaces and can be made up of a maximum of 8 cha-
racters.
Once a name has been programmed, the name will appear
on the display as soon as you tune to the transmitter.
@ Tune to the required preset station.
@ Press the CHAR. button @ to open the memory. The
cursor Starts to flash on the first position.
@ Enter the first character by using 0 to 9 for the figures, A
to Z for the letters, SYMB for the symbols (/, +, <,-, >, ¥)
and . for a space.
@ Press PRESET SCAN/CURSOR 4 @ to move the cursor
to the following position. You can return the cursor to a pre-
vious position with the PRESET SCAN/CURSOR ¥ button.
@ As soon as you have entered the entire name, press the
STORE button (2) to close the memory.
Changing a name
@ Press the CHAR. button @@. The first character starts to
flash.
@ Enter the new name and store this with the STORE but-
ton (9.
Erasing a name
@ Press the CHAR. button @@. The first character starts to
flash.
@ Replace each character by a space with the 4 button
and store this with the STORE button (9.
Using the TIMER button you can program the station you
want to hear when the tuner is switched on by an external
timer. This is useful when you want to make an unattended
recording. For this however you should also have timer fea-
tures on your cassette deck.
The station you want to select must be one of the 59 preset
stations. In total you can program three different stations in
three timer blocks. These stations will then be chosen in the
same order.
Each time you activate the timer program the tuner selects
the following timer block.
Timer program
@ Press the TIMER button @. The word TIMER appears in
the display.
@ Press the TIMER button again. The word TIMER 1 appears
in the display.
@ Select the preset station you want to store in the first
block.
e Press the TIMER button again (TIMER 2) and select the
preset station for the second block.
@ Press the TIMER button once again (TIMER 3) and select
the preset station for the third block.
@ Press the TIMER button one more time. The word TIMER
disappears. You have now programmed a transmitter for
each block.
Activating the program
@ Press the TIMER button @). The word TIMER appears in
the display.
@ Switch off the tuner and remove the mains plug from the
wall socket.
@ Set the timer.
@ Insert the mains plug in the timer and switch on the tuner.
@ The display now indicates the timer block that will come
on first (TIMER 1, 2 or 3). lf you want another block, press
the TIMER button until you see the required block.
@ At the time set on the timer you will hear the selected
transmitter.
@ To switch off the timer program, press the TIMER button
until there is no TIMER indication in the display.
Erasing a block
@ Press the TIMER button ©) to select the timer block you
want to erase (TIMER 1, 2 or 3).
@ Enter '0' or '00' with the 0 button @ or press one of the
waveband buttons @). The selected block is now erased.
