TUNING
AUTOMATIC TUNING
@ Select automatic tuning with the AUTO/MAN button @).
The word AUTOSCAN
(HIGH) appears on the display @).
@ Briefly press the button TUNER 4 (frequency up) or V
(frequency down) @). The automatic search will stop by itself
when a strong transmitter has been found. The display
shows the tuned frequency and the word TUNED appears.
@ If the transmitter found is not the desired one, simply
repeat this operation.
@ Weak transmitters are skipped during automatic tuning.
They can be tuned to manually.
For FM you can also select a higher tuning sensitivity so
that weak FM transmitters are not skipped. Press the SCAN-
SENS button (8). The indication AUTOSCAN
HIGH appears
in the display ©.
MANUAL TUNING
Manual tuning is useful when you already know the frequen-
cy of the desired transmitter (e.g. from your programme gui-
de).
With TUNER 4v
@ Select manual tuning with the AUTO/MAN button @). The
word AUTOSCAN
(HIGH) should not light up in the dis-
play @).
@ Keep the button TUNER 4 (frequency up) or VY (frequency
down) @) pressed until you approach the required frequen-
Cy.
@ If you now briefly press button TUNER A (frequency up)
or ¥ (frequency down) @) the frequency is changed by one
step each time until finally the right frequency has been
reached. One step is 0.025 MHz (25 kHz) on FM, and 1 kHz
on MW and LW.
@ If the transmitter found is strong enough, the word TUNED
will appear on the display ©). If it does not, press the button
TUNER 4 or Y © briefly several times, until reception quali-
ty is optimum.
With the digit buttons
You can also enter the frequency directly.
@ Press the F/P button @. In the display @ a number of
horizontal stripes will appear in the place of the tuning fre-
quency.
@ Enter the required tuning frequency with the digit but-
tons @. As soon as you have entered the last digit, the
transmitter becomes audible.
@ Entry of the tuning frequency will automatically be inter-
rupted after 5 seconds, or if any other button is pressed.
Note: When tuning to a frequency that has been stored as a
preset station in the memory, the number on which it has
been stored appears on the display next to the frequency.
When you see '0' or 00' this means that this frequency has
not been stored.
MEMORY
PREFERRED STATIONS
You can store 59 preferred stations in the memory of the
tuner. This enables you to find your favourite stations quickly
and easily.
The preset numbers are selected with the digit buttons (9.
You can switch from one-digit to two-digit number entry (and
vice versa) by pressing the --- button @).
STORING STATION FREQUENCIES
@ Tune either automatically or manually to the frequency to
be stored (as described previously). Programme guides
often contain a list of transmitter frequencies.
@ If the display shows the indication '0' or '00', the frequen-
cy shown has not yet been stored in the memory.
@ |f you want to store the frequency shown, press the
STORE button @. The word STORE appears on the dis-
play @).
@ if necessary, press the --- button @ to switch between
one- and two-digit number entry.
@ Now, select the desired number with the digit buttons (9).
For two-digit numbers the first number can be 0 to 5. The
frequency is now stored in the memory.
@ In this way you can store up to 59 frequencies.
@ A stored frequency is erased from the memory by storing
another frequency in its place.
TUNING TO A STORED STATION
Manually
@ If necessary, press the -* button @ to switch between
one- and two-digit number entry.
@ Select the desired preset number with the digit but-
tons @. You will now receive the selected station and the
display will show the tuned frequency and the preset num-
ber.
Automatically
Using the buttons PRESET SCAN/CURSOR @) you can call
up stored stations.
@ Press 4 for calling up in ascending order.
@ Press Y for calling up in descending order.
@ Repeat this operation unti! the desired transmitter is
found.
CLEARING THE MEMORY
@ Tune to the preset station you want to erase from the
memory.
@ Press the STORE button @ and enter '0' or 00'. The
memory location is now free again.
