3. The measurement should be 6". To
adjust, disconnect trunnion (figure 46)
from chain. Loosen the nut (B) and turn
the trunnion to raise or lower mower.
Tighten nut when measurement is cor¬
rect.

LIFT LEVER - 42" MOWER
1. Place the mower in low cut position.
Using the lift lever, raise the mower.
2. Measure the distance between top of
pulley cover and bottom of upstop
bracket (figure 47). If small lift lever (F,
figure 8) is used, the measurement
should be 2". If large lift lever (B, figure
8) is used, the measurement should be 1-
13/16".
NOTE
In the next step, refer to figure 44 if
small lift lever is used or figure 46 if
large lift is used.

SEAT ADJUSTMENT
The seat can be moved forward or back for
operator comfort. To adjust, tilt the seat
deck back. Loosen the four capscrews that
secure seat, move the seat, then retighten the
capscrews. (Seat will be loose when cap¬
screws are loosened.)
If the tractor is equipped with seat springs,
the springs can be repositioned for operator
comfort. To adjust, lift the seat from the
rear. Pull the springs from the holes in the
seat deck and push down into desired holes.
A lighter operator will want to move the
springs more forward.
3. To adjust, disconnect clevis (E, figure
44) or trunnion (C, figure 46) from
chain. Loosen the nut, and turn clevis
or trunnion to raise or lower mower.
Tighten nut when measurement is cor¬
rect.
