3. The measurement should be 6". To
adjust, disconnect trunnion (figure 46)
from chain. Loosen the nut (B) and turn
the trunnion to raise or lower mower.
Tighten nut when measurement is cor¬
rect.

I. Place the mower in low cut position.
Using the lift lever, raise the mower.
2. Measure the distance between top of
pulley cover and bottom of upstop
bracket (figure 47). If small lift lever (F,
figure 8) is used, the measurement-
should be 2". If large lift lever (B, figure
8) is used, the measurement should be I-
13/16".
NOTE
In the next step, refer to figure 44 if
small lift lever is used or figure 46 if
large lift is used.
3. To adjust, disconnect clevis (E, figure
44) or trunnion (C, figure 46) from
chain. Loosen the nut, and turn clevis
or trunnion to raise or lower mower.
Tighten nut when measurement is cor¬
rect.
Blade Brake Adjustment
36" Mower
Mfg. No. 1691419 and higher
Inspect the mower deck with the mower
attached and PTO rod released. The blade
brake rods (A, figure 48) should firmly
contact the belt (B) at the rear of the right
and left arbor pulleys. There should be a
shaft clearance between the two brake rods
in the center.
To adjust blade brake rods, loosen the
mounting brackets (C) and adjust rods for
clearance.
Retighten
bracket
bolts
and
check again. Engage the PTO and be sure
that brake rods are at least 1/8" from belts.
