    Setup Table/Desk Installation Connecting power to base unit Choose a spot near an electrical outlet (110V AC) and a telephone jack not controlled by a wall switch. Battery Installation Remove the battery cover by pressing on the indent and sliding downward.
  • Page 6 Connecting to phone line Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the jack on the bottom of the base unit. Plug the other end of this cord into the wall jack. NOTE: Before connecting to the phone line, make sure to properly charge the battery.

    Wall Mounting Your t 2408 base unit is designed to mount on a standard telephone wall plate. Wall mounting is optional. 1. Open the hinged wall mount bracket on the underside of the base, then swivel it down and lock it into place as shown in the diagram above.

    Handset Features IN USE/LOW BATT LED • Lit when the handset is in use. • Flashes in unison with an incoming call's ringing. • Flashes when base is paging handset. • Flashes quickly when in programming mode. • Flashes slowly when battery is low.

    Operating Instructions Making Calls • Pick up the handset and press PHONE. • When you hear a dial tone, dial the number. • The IN USE LED will illuminate while the handset is on a call. If you make a mistake when dialing, press OFF to hang up, then press PHONE to get the dial tone again.

    Operating Instructions Memory Dialing • Your t 2408 can store up to 10 numbers you can dial with three button presses: PHONE, MEM then one of the number keys (0 through 9). Programming Speed Dial Numbers • With the handset in OFF mode, press PROG.

    Maintenance Taking care of your telephone Your t 2408 cordless telephone contains sophisticated electronic parts, so it must be treated with care. Avoid rough treatment Place the handset down gently. Save the original packing materials to protect your telephone if you ever need to ship it.

    The Phone Doesn't Work At All • Make sure the power cord is plugged in. • Make sure the telephone line cord is plugged firmly into the base unit and the telephone wall jack. • Make sure the batteries are properly charged. If the LOW BATTERY LED is slowly flashing, the battery needs charging.
