@ Make sure that the arm is lying freely onits support
(not fixed with clip A\).
@ Move lever A\ to the ¥ position.
@ Take the tone arm from its support and move it
inwards. This starts the record player. Then position
the arm above the desired track on the record.
@ Move the lever A\ carefully to the ¥ position. The
record starts to play.
@ The record can be interrupted by moving lever A\
to the ¥ position. To continue, move lever A\ to the
¥ position.
@ The record player stops automatically at the end of
the record and the arm returns to its support.
@ Stopping can be done at any given moment. Set
lever A\ to the ¥ position and then move the player
arm
outwards.
When
you reach the support,
the
turntable will stop.
e Set lever
A\ to the ¥ position, secure the arm and
replace the stylus protection cover.
Note: If the auto-return mechanism
of the record
player fails to work the first time after transit, move the
tone arm towards the centre by hand. The mecha-
nism will activate, and the tone arm will return. Do not
use force; be positive, but gentle. Once the auto-
return mechanism has been reset in this manner, it
will function automatically thereafter.
CD.TV INPUT
e@ The CD.TV sockets ©) can be used to connect a
Compact
Disc player or the sound
channel
of a
television
set. It could also be a separate tuner,
receiver, recorder (only for playback!) etc.
@ Select the CD.TV mode with selector bution (9),
when you wish to use the CD.TV input.
CASSETTE RECORDING
@ Recording is only possible with deck I.
® For recording, always use NORMAL
or FERRO
cassettes (IEC type J).
e@ For playback, any cassette type can be inserted.

Prepare the recorder for recording as follows:
@ Open the cassette compartment @) by pressing in
STOP/EJECT @@) once, if necessary twice.
@ Put a cassette in the cassette compartment: open
side down, the full spool to the left (Fig. 4).
@ Do not use safeguarded cassettes for making a
recording. It will obstruct proper operation of record
button @ 5), with risk of damage.
e Close the cassette compartment.
@ Press in PAUSE button @).
@ Press in the RECORD button @). The PLAY button
@) will follow automatically.
e@ Select the sound source to be recorded, using the
selectors (2) 43), @8) or @).
@ By releasing the PAUSE button @) at the correct
moment, the recording will start.
@ When
the
recording
is completed,
press
the
PAUSE button @) again. The recorder will then remain
ready for the next recording.
@ If you stop recording,
press the STOP/EJECT
button @¢). Do not forget to release the PAUSE button
) if it is pressed in.
CASSETTE PLAYBACK (TAPE MODE)
@ Press TAPE selector @9).
e Either cassette deck I or I may be used.
@ Open
ithe cassette
compartment
by pressing
STOP/EJECT button @o) or @é).
@ Place a recorded cassette in the compartment:
open side down, full spool to the left.
@ Close the cassette compartment.
e Press the PLAY button @ or @. This starts
playback of deck I or deck IL. If both PLAY buttons
are pressed, deck II has priority.
@ Tostop playback, press STOP/EJECT button @gor
@). The tape stops automatically at the end of the
cassette.
CONTINUOUS
PLAYBACK
@ Press TAPE selector @9).
@ Press
both STOP/EJECT
buttons
and
insert a
recorded cassette into both decks.
@ Press PLAY button (9 of deck Il. Deck II will now
play.
@ Press PAUSE
button @) and then press PLAY
button @4) of deck I. The tape in deck I stands still.
@ At the end of the cassette in deck II (or when
STOP/EJECT button @0) is pressed), deck I will start
playing back.
DUBBING - Copying from deck II to deck I
@ Press TAPE selector @).
@ Select the dubbing speed with selector Gd. Do not
press this button during dubbing.
e@ Press both STOP/EJECT
buttons and insert a.
recorded cassette into deck Il and a cassette which
is suited for recording into deck L.
@ Press in PAUSE button @y).
@ Press in the RECORD button @9).
