Filling the special salt
Using the special salt for dish-washing
machines exclusively. Any other kind of
salt will contain a proportion of other
materials which over a period of time
could damage the water-softener.
For reasons of economic operation, and
as a contribution to environmental protec¬
tion, no more salt should be used than is
necessary. For this reason, set the level
of water-hardness which is correct for
the water in your area.
Please also follow any special in¬
structions which the manufacturer
prints on the packaging.
Pull the lower basket out and unscrew
the cap of the salt container.
Fill the container with water. Using the
funnel supplied, pour about 1 kilo of the
regenerating salt in as well (Fig. 4).
After cleaning all residues of salt off the
screw thread and the seal, screw the cap
carefully back on. Later it will be sufficient
to top the container up from time to time.
In order to remind you of this, your dish¬
washer has a green indicator on the cap
of the salt container; when this disappears
it is time to top up with salt.
Caution!
The lid of the salt container must be
closed tightly, as otherwise salt can
make its way into the rinsing water.
The result can be glasses that look
grey and dull.
Important
Salt should be topped up immediately
before a full dish-washing programme
is to be started, not counting the pre¬
rinse programme. Th,s is intended to
prevent any grains of salt, or drops of
salty water spilled during topping-up,
from remaining for a long time on the
floor of the machine before they can
be wetted or dissolved.
Caution!
Dish-washing powder and salt are often
sold in rather simitar packages. Dish¬
washing powder accidently filled into
the salt container will put the water¬
softening unit out of action! Please
therefore check carefully every time
you intend to top up with salt that it
really is the salt pack you have in your
hand.
Filling the rinse-aid
The rinse-aid ensures brilliant crockery
and also helps it to dry. It is automati¬
cally dosed in during the hot rinsing
cycle. The storage compartment built in
to the inside of the door can hold about
1 tO ml of rinse-aid, which will be suffi¬
cient for between 16 and 40 dish-washing
programmes, all according to the dosage
set.
Filling up the rinse-aid
Open the reservoir buy turning the cover
(A) to the left (Fig. 5). Pour the rinse-aid
into the filler opening until the indicator
(B) on the side of the cover turns com¬
pletely dark (i.e. until the reservoir is
full).
Tighten the cover again firmly
In order to prevent too much foam
forming the next time a programme runs,
any rinse-aid which went wide of the mark
should be wiped up with a cloth.
When the indicator (B) turns pale again,
top up with rinse-aid.
Dosage:
The correct dosage of the rinse-aid should
be regulated on the basis of the shine and
drying results. For this purpose, set the
quantity of liquid by means of the six-
position selector (C) located on the inside
of the filler opening (minimum quantity
is position f, maximum quantity is
position 6). Use the tip of a knife or a
screwdriver to rotate the selector (Fig. 5).
