the dust protection cap from the optical digital audio
output terminal and connect the cable firmly so that the configu-
rations of both the cable and the terminal match.
eKeep the dust protection cap and reattach when not using the
terminal.

eDo not bend the optical digital audio cable when connecting it.

If this is set to "No", no audio will be output when DVDs recorded in
96 kHz linear PCM are played. (Audio will be output as it is if the
DVD does not have copyright protection recorded on it.)
eThese
changes
to digital
audio
output
must
be
made,
otherwise signals the equipment cannot handle, bitstream, will
be output. It the signals are output as bitstreem, "noise"
will be
output which can cause harm to your ears and speakers.

You can enjoy stereo sound if you connect an amplifier or system component that has 2-channel audio input terminals.

To enjoy Dolby Pro Logic
lit you connect an amplifier with Dolby Pro Logic
decoder, you will also need to connect center and
surround speakers to enjoy surround sound. Read the
instructions for the equipment for connection details.
eTurn V.S.S. off (m page 22). Dolby Pro Logic decoder
will not function correctly if V.S.S. is on.

eGo to "7 Digital Audio Output" and set "1 PCM Down Conversion" to
"No" (-_ page 36).
