Maintenance and Service
Maintenance and cleaning
Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
u
work on the power tool.
To ensure safe and efficient operation, always keep
u
the power tool and the ventilation slots clean.
In extreme conditions, always use a dust extractor if
u
possible. Blow out ventilation slots frequently and in-
stall a residual current device (RCD) upstream. When
machining metals, conductive dust can settle inside the
power tool, which can affect its protective insulation.
A blunt diamond cup wheel (15) can be resharpened by
briefly grinding abrasive material (e.g. lime-sand brick).
Store and handle the accessories carefully.
In order to avoid safety hazards, if the power supply cord
needs to be replaced, this must be done by Bosch or by an
after-sales service centre that is authorised to repair Bosch
power tools.
Changing the brush collar
To ensure optimal dust extraction, change a worn brush col-
lar in good time.
GBR 15 CA
Using a screwdriver, carefully pry out the brush collar (11)
at the openings of the brush guide with the diamond cutting
wheel (15) mounted. Use the diamond cutting wheel for
leverage while prying out.
Carefully push a new brush collar (11) into the brush guide
as far as it will go. When inserting the new brush collar, en-
sure that the ends of the brush collar are not positioned in
one of the openings of the brush guide.
GBR 15 CAG
Press (for example with a screwdriver) into both
openings (11) in the protective guard. You can remove both
parts of the brush collar (11) from under the power tool.
(see figure C)
Carefully push the two new parts of the brush collar (11)
into the brush guide as far as they will go. When inserting the
new brush collar, ensure that the ends of the brush collar are
not positioned in one of the openings of the brush guide.
