is very important to know the map datum that you want to work with. Map
datums are important if you want to relate your position information with a
chart.
electing a Datum
The Enter Datum option lets you select the datum that corresponds to
the map you are using, in the legend of your chart, you should find
reference to the datum upon which the chart is based. In the event that
your particular map datum is not covered by one of the NAV PLU
selections, we have provided you a way to enter your datum using the
following procedure. Refer to the appendix for datum constants.
After pushing the
ETUP
key, press the DOWN
ARROW key to reach this
display. At this display, you
can use the RIGHT ARROW
key to scroll to the datum
that corresponds to the one
used in your chart, or...
