2. Connect the discharge hose.
Use a commercially available hose, hose connector, and hose band. A
short, large-diameter hose is most efficient. Long or small-diameter
hose increases fluid friction and reduces pump output.
NOTE:
Tighten the hose band securely to prevent the hose from disconnecting
under high pressure.

3. Check the engine oil level.
CAUTION:
• Engine oil is a major factor affecting engine performance and service
life. Nondetergent or vegetable oils are not recommended.
• Be sure to check the engine on a level surface with the engine
stopped.
Remove the oil filler cap/dipstick and wipe it clean.
Insert the filler cap/dipstick into the oil filler neck, but do not screw it
in. If the level is low, fill to the top of the oil filler neck with the
recommended oil.
