MULTI-MEMORY
@
MultiMemery function cannot be carried out with the single
disc magazine.
Multi'Memory
function can store the output level setting with
TOC* data.
Once
a program is stored in the memory,
the program will be
recalled whenever
the magazine is inserted.
Up to 40 program
steps, and up to 99 delete programs
(tracks) for a disc can be
stored in Multi-Memory.

Every CD disc is provided with a section called TOC (Table Of
Contents) at the beginning of the disc. The TOC section is just
like the table of contents (number of tracks, playing time, etc.)
of the disc.
TOC data memory
After a magazine is inserted, the player reads TOC data of each
disc in the order of the disc numbers and stores all of the TOC
data. When the TOC data have been read, MULT! MEMORY TOC
DATA lights and the display shows the last disc No., track No. and
total playing time, and disc symbol indicators which contain a disc
will light ®. In this state, EJECT, PLAY, RANDOM PLAY, DISC
NUMBER or TRACK NUMBER operation speed will be increased.
@® Example: When a magzine contains discs No. 1, No. 3
and No, 4.
Once the TOC data are stored in the memory, the TOC data will
be recalled whenever
the same
magazine is inserted, and the
display shows the total track numbers and total playing time of
each disc for about 2 seconds in the order of the disc numbers.
@ When the Program or Delete Program of the magazine is already
stored
in Multi-Memory,
the
display
shows
the
total
programmed track numbers and total programmed time.
NOTE
When using less than 6 discs, be sure to insert disc No.1 into the
magazine. Otherwise, the Multi-Memory function cannot be carried
out.
To correct the TOC data

Replacing or Removing a disc (No. 2 - No.6 only}
When replacing or removing a disc from the magazine whose
TOC data are already stored in Multi-Memory, clear the previous
TOC data and store the new one.
In this case, disc No. 1
cannot be replaced or removed.
1. Insert the magazine.
The TOC data of each disc previously stored will be displayed
in sequence.
2. Press
ERASE.
"CLr" appears
on the display. The previous
memory (TOC, program and/or disc output level) is erased and
the new TOC data will be stored in Multi-Memory.
e@ Adding discs
When
discs are inserted into the magazine which contains
vacant trays, the TOC data and/or preset disc output level of
new discs can be added and stored in the previous memary.

. Eject the magazine.
. Press STORE. "Add" appears on the display.
. Load a disc in the magazine.
. Insert the magazine into the player.
The program
and/or preset disc output level of the discs
previously stored in Multi-Memory will not be erased.

To store program/delete
program
in multi-
memory
1. Insert the 6 disc magazine,
and perform a program.
(See
"Program Playback and Delete Program Playback.)
@ After inserting the magazine, wait until a TOC of alf discs
has been read.
2. Press STORE.
The MULT! MEMORY
PROGRAM
or DELETE indicator lights,
"FILE" appears on the display and the program can be now
stored.
Whenever the magazine which contains the same discs in the
same
order
is inserted,
pressing
PLAY
initiates
playback
according to the stored program.
@
The programm can be stored only when the player is in stop
mode.

Memory", programming is possible without magazine.
After
Programming, insert the magazine.
To play discs without Program Memory:
After inserting the magazine, press STOP/CLEAR. The player exits
Multi'Memory mode and any playback mode can be selected.
To store new program:

After the magazine is inserted, press STOP/CLEAR and store the
new program.
The program previously stored will be erased.
