Paragraphs
5-31 to 5-35
5-31. AC OUTPUT
ZERO.
5-32. Connect a de voltmeter (410C) to TP5 and adjust A2R59 for 0.0 +0. 050
vde.
5-33. CALIBRATION.
NOTE
If a 400E/EL Option 02 is to be calibrated,
set
the REL.
REF adjustment to the fully clockwise
ABSOLUTE
position before beginning the cali-
bration.
5-34. Attenuator Alignment.
a.
c.
Use the setup shown in Figure 5-1 to align the attenuator.
Cali-
brate the reference supply according to the procedures in Para-
graph 5-10 using a 3 volt thermal converter.
SET TEST OSCILLATOR OUTPUT TO MINIMUM
BEFORE CONNECTING.
REDUCE OSCILLATOR
OUTPUT BEFORE CHANGING FREQUENCY
RANGE.
DO NOT ALLOW OSCILLATOR OUT-
PUT TO EXCEED RATED INPUT OF THERMAL
CONVERTER.
ANY OVERLOAD MAY DESTROY
THERMAL CONVERTER.
Disconnect the de standard and connect the test oscillator and
400E/EL as shown in Figure 5-1.
Set the oscillator frequency
to 100 Ke (KHz) and the 400E/EL to the 3 volt range.
Using the
amplitude control as coarse adjustment and R4 as fine adjustment,
increase the oscillator output until the thermal converter output
nulls the reference supply.
Adjust A1C1 in the 400E/EL for a meter reading of 3.00 volts.
5-35. Low and High Frequency Calibration.
5-10
a.
b.
Calibrate the reference supply in Figure 5-1 with a 1 volt thermal
converter according to the steps in Paragraph 5-10.
Disconnect the dc standard and connect the test oscillator,
the
400E/EL, and the digital voltmeter as shown in Figure 5-1.
Set
the oscillator frequency to 400 cps (Hz) and the 400E/EL to the 1
volt range.
Using the amplitude control as coarse adjustment and
R4 as fine adjustment,
increase the oscillator output until the
thermal converter output nulls the reference supply.
Adjust A2R38 for a 400E/EL meter reading of 1.00 +0. 01 volts.
