Section 1: Assembly & Set-Up
Park Stand
Refer to Figure 1-1:

WARNING
To avoid serious injury or death:
An unsupported parked tiller can tip over easily. Always use
its park stand and when needed, non-concrete support blocks
to keep the tiller from tipping onto a person.
1.
Verify tiller is supported level while resting on the skid
shoes and park stand (#3).
2. If needed, support tiller with a hoist or other lifting
device and adjust park stand as follows:
a. Remove wire retaining pin (#19).
b. Adjust park stand (#3) to a height that will support
tiller level while resting on its skid shoes.
c. Secure park stand with wire retaining
pin (#14). Make sure wire retainer is hooked over
the end of the retaining pin.
3. Lower tiller onto the park stand.

Hitch & Rear Chain Set-up
Refer to Figure 1-1:
1.
Install upper hitch plates (#5 & #6) to outside of
gearbox mounting frame (#4) with 5/8"-11 x 1 1/4"
GR 5 bolts (#7), lock washers (#14), and nuts (#10).
Do not tighten hardware at this time.
2. Install 2" long spacer (#1) between top 3-Point hitch
plates (#5 & #6) with 3/4"-10 x 4" GR5 bolt (#8), lock
washer (#15), and hex nut (#11).
3. Securely tighten all bolts (#8 & #7) to the correct
torque.
4. Install manual tube (#17) to hitch plate (#6) with two
1/4"-20 x 1 GR5 hex head cap screws (#9), four SAE
flat washers (#13), and two hex nylock nuts (#12).
5. Tighten 1/4" cap screws (#9) to the correct torque.
6. Attach rear deflector chain (#3) to slot on backside of
the tiller. Refer to "Rear Deflector Adjustment" on
page 23 for detailed instructions.
