Cause/solution
R The handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer.
R The base unit's AC adaptor is not properly connected.
Reconnect AC adaptor to the base unit.
R The handset is not registered to the base unit. Register it
(page 14).
R Confirm the base unit's AC adaptor is connected to the unit and
the power outlet correctly.
R The handset has lost communication with the base unit. Move
closer to the base unit and try again.
R Unplug the base unit's AC adaptor to reset the unit. Reconnect
the adaptor and try again.
R The unit automatically adjusts the date and time each time
caller information including date and time is received. (Caller ID
subscribers only) To adjust the time, wait for an incoming call.
R Incorrect time information from incoming Caller ID changes the
time. Set the time adjustment to "Manual" (this will turn
automatic adjust off)

2. MbN: Select the desired setting. a MOKN a MOFFN
R Press the volume key MDN repeatedly while talking.
R Try to relocate the base unit so that distance to the handset is
minimized.
R You can leave the handset on the base unit or charger anytime.
This will not harm the batteries.
R Press MRECALLN when you hear the call waiting tone.
R Turn on the answering system (page 14).
R If you have unit's answering system set to on and also the
voicemail enabled, the system with least amount of rings will
record the message first. Contact your phone service provider
or change the unit's answering system number of rings settings
to a lower value using the following method.
1. MMENUN (right soft key) #211
2. MbN: Select the desired setting. a MOKN a MOFFN
