Cause & solution
L The handset is too far from the base unit. Move
closer.
L The base unit AC adaptor is not connected.
Check the connections.
L You are using the handset or base unit in an area
with high electrical interference. Place the
handset and base unit away from interference
sources, such as antennas and mobile phones.
L The handset is not registered to the base unit.
Register it (page 8).
L The dialling mode setting is incorrect. Set to
"Tone" or "Pulse" as needed (page 3).
L The handset is in screen saver mode. Press
{ih} to activate the handset display again.
L Make sure that the batteries are installed
correctly.
L Fully charge the batteries.
L Clean the charge contacts and charge again.
L When you are using fully-charged Ni-MH batteries
(supplied batteries);
In continuous use: 12 hours max.
In continuous standby mode: 150 hours max.
L It is normal for batteries not to reach full capacity
at the initial charge. Maximum battery
performance is reached after a few complete
cycles of charge/discharge (use).
L Actual battery performance depends on a
combination of how often the handset is in use
and how often it is not in use (standby).
L Even after the handset is fully charged, the
handset can be left on the base unit without any ill
effect on the batteries.
L If the batteries are fully charged until 1 is
displayed, but 3 is displayed after a few calls,
replace the batteries with new ones.
L The PIN is a 4-digit number that must be entered
in order to change certain base unit settings. The
default PIN is "0000".
