OPERATING YOUR NEW UNIT
PREPARING THE ENGINE FOR STARTING
GAS AND OIL
We recommend you use a good quality 2-cycle oil when operating the engine so that it operates
smoothly throughout its life. Use only unleaded regular gasoline.

Run engine with a 50:1 ratio.

MIXING FUEL AND FILLING THE GAS TANK
MIXING FUEL
•
Only mix fuel outside in a well-ventilated area.
•
Add ¼ of the total amount of unleaded gasoline to an approved gasoline container.
•
Add the recommended amount of 2-cycle oil.
•
Securely tighten the container cap.
•
Gently shake the gas container to mix the fuel and the oil.
•
Slowly loosen the gas container's cap allowing the vapors to vent.
•
Add the remaining ¾ of the total amount of fuel to the container.
•
Clean up any spilled fuel and allow any fuel on the container and in the area to evaporate
before moving.
FILLING THE UNIT'S FUEL TANK
•
If the engine has been running, shut it off and allow the engine to cool completely.
•
Move the unit to a well-ventilated area away from any open flames or sparks.
•
Make sure the area around the fuel cap is clean.
•
Slowly loosen the fuel cap and place in a dry area.
•
Carefully fill the gas tank taking care not to spill.
•
Do not fill the tank completely. Allow space for air to expand.
•
Replace the fuel cap and secure it tightly.
•
Clean any spillage around the cap and the tank area before starting.
IMPORTANT
Fuel and fuel vapors are hazardous and highly flammable. For safety reasons, never store the unit
indoors with fuel still in the tank.
Always use a separate certified gas container to mix the fuel and oil. Use only containers that are
approved by the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) or the American Society for Testing and Materials
(ASTM)

The unit's engine runs on a GAS/OIL mixture. Never

run the engine on straight gas only. Never run with E85
