FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

A functional block diagram is provided in Figure 2.1. The Multiplexer Module is powered by 3.3V and 5V inputs via
Compact PCI connector J1. The interface to the user test equipment is via the front panel mounted SMA coaxial
connectors. The module comprises a PCB populated with solid-state relays arranged as two SPDT terminated RF
switches. The relays are energised via control signals from relay drivers U50 and U51. The relay drivers are fed
with serial data from PCI bridge U1 via isolators U59 and U60. Module configuration is determined by data stored in
EEPROM U7, the PCI Bridge U1 is configured by EEPROM U2.
