m@ How to Use COLOR BALANCE
Using the COLOR
BALANCE joystick, recordings made with
the video
camera
set to the incorrect
white
balance
and
distorted colour balance can be compensated,
or modified in-
tentionally.
<Preparations>
Perform the operations in "Before operating" steps [1] — [3] on page 10 to play
back the VCR-1 deck used for playback.
White balance adjustment:
[1] Press the COLOR BALANCE ON/OFF button to ON.
COLOR BALANCE
[2] Operate COLOR
BALANCE joystick to adjust the white balance. Set so that

a white object looks like white, or human skin looks most natural.
[3] To change the colour balance greatly or intentionally apply an exaggerated
effect, press the WIDE RANGE button.
How to generate special colour effects:
With the above operations [1] , [2] , you can gradually change
a colour picture into
a monochrome picture, or make a scene recorded in daylight appear to have been
recorded
at dusk. To make the picture monochrome,
set the COLOR
LEVEL
control to its lightest position. Refer to ''How to use colour level control'' on page
16.
