MODIFYING A TEXT
FILE
There are two ways to modify
the
text file
stored
in
memory.
<Add
mode>
You
add some text at the end of the
text
file
line by
line,
the same
way
you created
the
file
in the Display mode or Print
mode.
<Edit
mode>
You edit the text file scrolling to a desired location
in
the file.
Modifying a text file in
the Add mode
1) Press the Mode key until a
"T"
appears above
"STORE"
on the display.
2)
Type the name of the
text
file you want
to
add
text
to.
Then
press the Return key. The message
"Edit/Add?" appears
on the display. Press the "A" key to choose the
Add mode.
The message
"Display/Print?"
appears
on
the
display.
3) Press the
"D"
key to choose the Display mode
or press
the
"
P" key to
choose
the Print mode.
4) Type the
text
to be added.
Characters appear on the
display as you type. When a
line
is completed
,
the line is
stored in memoiy and disappears from the
display. In
the
Print mode, the line
is
printed on the paper
at
th
is
time .

Press
the
Mode key to
exit
the STORE mode. The
typewriter
returns to
the
NP mode.
Modifying a text file in the
Edit mode
1)
Press
the Mode
key
until a "T"' appears
above
" STORE"
on
the
display.
2) Type the name of the text
file
you want
to
edit.
Then
press
the Return
key.
The
message
' Edit/Add?"
appears
on the
display. Press the
"E"
key
to
choose the
Edit
mode.
The
text file
appears on the
display
as one
continuous line
of
text.
You can scroll
to
any
poinl
in
the file
to
make
changes, corrections, or to
simply
review
.

Press the Mode key to
exit
the
STORE
mode.
The
typewriter
returns
to
the NP
mode.
