• When the disc tray is open:
Programs can be entered to memory. Although the programming
procedure is the same as described above, the indicator displays
programmed information step-by-step. When the disc tray is closed
with a disc loaded, any programmed tracks not on the disc will be
deleted automatically from the program.
Playback
1. Press play/pause button (►/■) to
begin programmed
playback.
2. Playback ends.
When the last programmed track finishes playing, the player
enters stop mode. (All operations stop, the first track number of
the program will be displayed.)
Cancellation of programmed playback and clearing
a program
• Pressing stop (■) button will cause playback to stop. In this case the
program stored in memory will not be cleared. To clear the
program, press stop (■) button once more.
Operation example

• To clear a program: (Clearing a program)
TO PROGRAM A PAUSE OPERATION_
During programmed playback, these operations cause the player to
pause at the beginning of tracks for which a pause has been
specified.
[Application Example 1]
When recording on both sides of a cassette tape, program for a
pause to occur after the completion of the last track, before the first
side of the tape runs out, to enable recording of the next track to
begin after the tape has been turned over.
[Application Example 2]
When recording on a tape, program for pauses to occur between
tracks, to allow blank intervals or narration to be recorded on the
tape, after which recording can be resumed.
Memorizing a program
1. During stop mode, press PROGRAM button.
2. Select a track with manual/track search buttons

3. Press PROGRAM button.
4. Repeat procedures 2 to 3.
5. Press pause button (II) on the remote control unit.
A pause is counted as a program step.
6. Repeat procedures 2 to 3 or 2 to 5.
To enter another track into the program. During playback, there
will be a pause at the beginning of the track selected after
procedure 5.
NOTE:
• A pause cannot be programmed for step 1 (07), nor for two
consecutive steps, nor for the fast steps.
For the PAUSE program, the PROGRAM button need not be pressed
after the pause button of the remote control unit.
Operation example
Program the player to playback track 5, track 3, and track 8, and to
pause at the beginning of track 8 after playing back track 3.
