Inserting the Battery

Press (indentation) and slide down the
battery cover.

Unpack the battery ensuring that the rib
on the battery fits into the groove of the
case.

Plug the connector into the socket.

Replace the battery cover.
To remove the Battery
First power off and wait until the display goes blank. Follow steps 1 to 4
above, unplugging the connector and removing the battery in steps 2-3.
Warning
Never pull the battery cable at an angle nor pull the battery to unplug the
connector.
Charging the Battery
As supplied, your battery will not be fully charged.
1 Plug the Charger into a mains socket.
2 Plug the Charger into the bottom
(jack) of your CMD-C1.
The status bar in the battery icon on the display indicates the
charging status. Charging (0 °C - 45 °C) is complete when the battery icon
indicates all bars. Full charging can take up to 5 hours, but may vary
depending on certain conditions e.g. if your CMD-C1 is switched on,
temperature is outside the operating range. As an energy-saving measure,
disconnect the charger from the mains socket and then from the phone
after charging.
Important
Use only the Sony-specified CMD-C1 battery and charger. The battery must be
connected during charging.
Usage Time
When your battery is weak, the battery icon in the display flashes and
there is a beep indicating that only one minute of talk-time is left.
