'TUNER FEATURES
Auto seek tuning (p.71)
Automatically searches for stations you
can receive.
Local scan (p. 13)
When this feature is turned on, it
combines scanning and Auto Memory
and presets only strong stations
offering good reception.
Monaural tuning (p.13)
When stereo reception conditions are
poor, turning on this function switches
reception to monaural, improving
sound quality by reducing noise.
Preset stations (p. 178)
Stores the frequencies of your favorite
stations in memory, for one-touch
tuning.
Auto memory (p.19)
Automatically stores the strongest
stations you can pick up, for one-touch
tuning.
RDS (Radio Data System) (p.20)
lf you turn on RDS while taking a long
drive, the tuner will automatically
search for an RDS station broadcasting
the same program as a station whose
signal is weakening. If it finds another
RDS station, it will also show you its
name.
LNSS (Local Network Search
System) (p.27)
Many local stations carry the same
programs as national networks. When
the signal from the national network
station is weak, LNSS will search for a
local station offering the same
program.

Some RDS stations broadcast time
signals that let your built-in clock set
itself to the correct time. If you cross
time zones, it adjusts automatically to
the time difference as soon as it
receives.a local RDS signal.
EON (Enhanced Other Network)
EON is a new RDS service. Offered
first by the BBC in England, EON has
now spread to the Netherlands and
Sweden and will soon reach other
countries as well. Stations
participating in EON broadcast the
names and frequencies of RDS
stations providing traffic information.
Your tuner stores this data, and, when
the Traffic Information function is
turned on, switches automatically from
station to station to keep you up to
date as you travel.
Stations participating in EON also
broadcast the names and frequencies
of stations transmitting the same
station chain. Your tuner automatically
stores this data, allowing one-touch
access to the best possible reception.

tuner automatically narrows the
frequency band it receives to prevent
interference from stations
broadcasting on frequencies close to
the one you are listening to. -
