To increase the tension, tighten the tensioning nut.
To decrease the tension, loosen the tensioning nut.
Note: If there are not enough threads on the
tensioning rod, you can move the locking nut next to
the tensioning nut, and use it as a jam nut.
4. When the chain deflects from 5 mm to 8 mm (0.2 inch
to 0.3 inch), tighten the locking nut on the tensioning
rod.

Storage

1. Remove grass clippings, dirt, and grime from the
external parts of the entire machine, especially the
rollers and the engine. Clean dirt and chaff from the
outside of the engine's cylinder head fins and blower
housing.
Important: You can wash the machine with mild
detergent and water. Do not pressure wash the
machine. Avoid excessive use of water, especially
near the engine.
2. For long-term storage (more than 90 days) add
stabilizer/conditioner additive to fuel in the tank.
A. Run the engine to distribute conditioned fuel
through the fuel system (5 minutes).
B. Either stop engine, allow it to cool, and drain the
fuel tank, or operate the engine until it stops.
C. Start the engine again and run it until it stops.
Repeat, with the choke on, until the engine will
not start.
D. Dispose of fuel properly. Recycle it according to
local codes.
3. Check and tighten all bolts, nuts, and screws. Repair or
replace any part that is damaged or defective.
4. Paint all scratched or bare metal surfaces.
Note: Paint is available from your Authorized Service
Dealer.
5. Store the machine in a clean, dry garage or storage area.
Cover the machine to protect it and keep it clean.
