Do not touch the backplane with any metal objects and make sure no ribbon cables touch the backplane or obstruct the holes, which aid in proper airflow. Caution: Regardless of how many hard drives are installed, all drive carriers must remain in the drive bays to maintain proper airflow.

    Chapter 3: Maintenance and Component Installation Hot-Swap for NVMe Drives Supermicro servers support NVMe surprise hot-swap. For even better data security, NVMe orderly hot-swap is recommended. NVMe drives can be ejected and replaced remotely using BMC. Note: If you are using VROC, see the VROC appendix in this manual instead.

    The failed power module can be replaced without powering-down the system. Replace with the same model. Replacement modules can be ordered directly from Supermicro. An amber light on the power supply is illuminated when the power is switched off. A green light indicates that the power supply is operating.

    The JTPM1 header is used to connect a TPM Module for Trust Platform Module/Port 80 support. The TPM module, which is optional and available from Supermicro, is a security device that supports encryption and authentication in hard drives. It allows the motherboard to deny access if the TPM associated with the hard drive is not installed in the system.
