• Make sure the power cord cannot be trodden on or pinched.
• Do not allow the power cord to hang over sharp edges and keep it away from hot objects and naked
flames.
• When plugging in the power plug, make sure people cannot accidentally pull it out or trip over it.
• Prevent the power cord from making contact with water, hot surfaces or steam.
• Always remove the power plug from the socket:
o before you move the device;
o before you store the device;
o before you fit or remove accessories;
o before you clean or maintain the dust container;
o after you have used the device.
• Remove the power plug from the electrical outlet during lightning storms or if the device is not used for
a long period of time.
• Prevent overload by not connecting too many devices in a group
• Use a 10 amp cable if an extension cable is required. Cables with a lower amp rating may burn out.
• When using an extension cable, make sure it is completely extended.
• WARNING! Do not open the casing as this may result in electric shock.
• WARNING! Never immerse the device in water or any other liquid. This can cause a fatal electric
shock!
• WARNING! To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, protect the device from dripping or splashing
water and damp environments and keep away from objects filled with liquids, such as vases. Such
objects should not be placed on or near the device.
Use
• Prior to use, check the device for visible external damage. Never operate the device if it is damaged.
• Never suck up combustible, burning or smoking materials!
• Do not use the device in the vicinity of flammable materials.
• Do not leave the device unattended when it is in use.
• Keep the device out of reach of children and pets.
• This device is not a toy and should be kept under strict supervision to prevent children from using the
device as a toy.
• Do not allow children to clean or maintain this device unsupervised.
• Never allow children to use domestic appliances as toys or without supervision. Children are unable to
judge the hazards associated with incorrectly using electric appliances.
• Children in the vicinity of the device must always be supervised by an adult.
• The use of accessories not recommended by the device manufacturer could lead to injury.
• Do not operate the device with wet hands.
• When operating, do not touch or block the inlet/outlet & filter by hand or any other means. Blockages
will cause the device to overheat. Switch off the device immediately! Once you have solved the blockages,
wait 20 to 30 minutes to allow the device to cool down completely.
• Be extra cautious when using the device on stairs.
